NASEMSO Praises Lieberman and McCain for Introducing Legislation to Allocate the 700 MHz D Block to Public Safety and to Fund an Interoperable Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network (07/22/10) The National Association of State Emergency Medical Services Officials (NASEMSO) today strongly praised Senators Joe Lieberman (I – Conn.) and John McCain (R – Ariz.) for their introduction of legislation to reallocate the 700 MHz D Block to public safety and to fund build-out and maintenance of an interoperable nationwide public safety broadband network. Their bill would join H.R. 5081 as companion legislation directing the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to add the D Block to 700 MHz bandwidth already licensed to public safety to create a core nationwide data communications network. NASEMSO Endorses Senator Rockefeller's Support of D Block for Public Safety (07/22/10) The National Association of State Emergency Medical Services Officials (NASEMSO) on July 22, 2010, strongly endorsed Senator Jay Rockefeller, IV, Chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, for announcing his intention to introduce legislation in the coming days, which directs the FCC to allocate the 700 MHz D block to public safety with funding to build out a nationwide interoperable public safety broadband network. NASEMSO Releases New Documents to Support National Implementation of the EMS Education Agenda (03/25/09) NASEMSO announces the availability of two new documents intended to support national implementation of the "EMS Education Agenda for the Future: A Systems Approach (Education Agenda)." Developed to support state implementation activities, Talking Points and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) describe key elements and provide greater understanding about the individual components of the Education Agenda.
